About the Author
Matt first retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 years of honorable service as a Special Agent with USMC C.I.D. – Matt then enjoyed a second career in municipal law enforcement working as a sworn officer in Southern California until his recent retirement in 2015. Over his career his duties have included patrol, field training, crisis negotiation, criminal investigations, K-9 handler, and executive protection.
Matt has contributed to several area newspapers including OsideNews and national online media outlets as a freelance writer. He has written on topics that involve human & community interest as well as selected topics related to law enforcement. Matt donated the royalties he receives from this book to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and Wall in Washington, D.C.
After attended and graduated from Park University he has been teaching for Central Texas College (Continental Campus) since 1998 as a member of the Criminal Justice Faculty.
